  • Application and admission

    Thanks to its extensive network of partner universities worldwide, the Faculty of Pharmacy of Marseille welcomes foreign students for exchange study programs (either for a semester or for an academic year) or for exchange internship programs.

    Students participating in ERASMUS+, CIVIS, BCI, ISEP programs, or bilateral cooperation are eligible for study mobility at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Marseille. You can find the list of partner universities on the interactive map of the Faculty of Pharmacy.

     

    The application and admission procedure for an exchange program unfolds in several steps:

     

    Step 1: Application

    Before being able to participate in an exchange program at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Marseille, make sure there is a cooperation agreement between your home university and our institution. Then, follow the application procedure of your university.

    Step 2: Nomination

    Your nomination will be made by the international relations coordinator of your home university to the International Relations and Research Office of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Marseille.

    Step 3: Registration

    Once your home university has sent your nomination and it has been validated, you can proceed with your registration.

     

    Registration Fees

    Students participating in an exchange program remain enrolled at their home university during the exchange period and pay registration fees to their home university. During their mobility, they will be registered at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Marseille but will be exempt from registration fees.

    The Faculty of Pharmacy of Marseille welcomes international students outside the framework of an exchange program.

    We invite applicants to explore the catalog of courses offered by the Faculty of Pharmacy of Marseille to discover the programs, objectives, as well as study and career opportunities for each course.

    Here are some practical information to apply to our programs:

     

    Admission Procedure

    Step 1: Choose your study program

    To learn about the specific requirements of the program you are interested in, we recommend checking our catalog of courses and sending an email to the contact provided in the course description.

     

    Step 2: Application

    International students outside the framework of an exchange program must submit their application directly on the Campus France platform, "Études en France."

    For countries not listed on Campus France, students must apply through the university application portal eCandidat.

     

    Note: It is mandatory to provide the results of an official French language test (TCF or DELF/DALF).

     

    Step 3: Application Evaluation

    A committee will review the application to determine its eligibility. In some cases, students may be invited for an interview and/or language test.

     

    Registration Fees

    Registration fees are payable at the time of administrative registration.

    European Student

    European students pay the same tuition fees as French students:

    • Bachelor's: 170 € + 100 € de CVEC*
    • Master's: 243 € + 100 € de CVEC*.
    • PhD: 380 € + 100 € de CVEC*.

    Non-European Student (extracommunity, non-exchange)

    For the academic year 2024-2025, Aix-Marseille University has decided to grant partial exemption from tuition fees to non-European students. Thus, they will pay the same fees as French and European students:

    • Bachelor's: 170 € + 100 € de CVEC*.
    • Master's: 243 € + 100 € de CVEC*.
    • PhD: 380 € + 100 € de CVEC*.

     

    *The contribution to student life and campus (CVEC) is mandatory for all students.

    Transfers are only possible at the end of the first cycle, which is at the end of the third year corresponding to the validation of the Diplôme de Formation Générale en Sciences Pharmaceutiques. In other cases, the student must pass the first-year common health examination without a guarantee of retaining the years already completed.

     

    The application file must include the following documents:

    • A document presenting the content of the studies, translated into French and certified if necessary
    • Transcripts indicating at least 180 ECTS credits validated
    • Minimum French level B1 (TCF, DALF, DELF valid). Proof of language proficiency is mandatory for all applicants except those of French nationality and those from a country where French is the official language.

    The application files must be submitted to the International Relations and Research Office of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Aix-Marseille University, along with the 2024-2025 Transfer Dossier Form:

    The transfer agreement is conditional upon the validation of the current year.

     

    Regulatory Texts

    Article 2 of Decree 2019-11252 of November 4, 2019, concerning access to medical, pharmaceutical, dental, and midwifery training programs:

    "Students with degrees, titles, or diplomas validated in a Member State of the European Union, another State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, or the Principality of Andorra, which attest to the acquisition of skills and knowledge comparable to those acquired in the first cycle of medical, pharmaceutical, dental, and midwifery training in France, may be admitted to continue their studies in the second cycle of these same programs in France by decision of the president of the host university, after consultation with the director of the medical, pharmaceutical, dental, or midwifery training unit or the component responsible for these programs pursuant to Article L. 713-4.

     

    This application is for individuals who hold a degree in Medicine, Midwifery, Dentistry, or Pharmacy (MMOP) that has been validated, OR who have completed all or part of the studies towards obtaining these degrees in a country other than a member state of the European Union, a state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, or the Principality of Andorra, and wish to join health studies for an exemption from certain courses.

    • It is prohibited to apply to multiple institutions and/or programs in the same year.
    • The right to submit an MMOP application under this decree is limited: no one can benefit from more than two attempts.

     

    Applications

    Candidates must send their application file to the Campus France office in the country where the degree has been validated/is being pursued. Click here to find the Campus France office to contact. Applications sent directly to universities will not be considered.

    The application file must include the documents listed in the decree of December 13, 2019, as well as documents requested by the institution:

    • A sworn statement of a single application:
    Attestation sur l’honneur
    • A copy of the identity document
    • A certified copy with an official translation, if applicable, of the diplomas obtained since the baccalaureate
    • Transcripts since the baccalaureate (or equivalent)
    • The programs followed and any documents allowing the jury to assess skills and knowledge
    • A certificate of enrollment for candidates currently studying
    • Proof of a B1 level in French (TCF, DALF, DELF valid). The language proficiency proof is mandatory for all applicants except those of French nationality and those from a country where French is the official language.

    Institutions reserve the right to directly request additional documents from candidates that are not specified in the texts.

  • Academic calendar

    The first semester begins the first week of September and ends at Christmas. 

    The second semester begins the first week of January and ends on June 30th. 

    The exact start and end dates of each semester may vary each year, so you are encouraged to arrive in Marseille one week before classes start for integration activities.

    Le 2ème semestre commence la première semaine de janvier et se termine le fin juin. 

    Les dates exactes de début et de fin de semestre peuvent varier chaque année. Nous vous invitons à arriver à Marseille une semaine avant le début des cours pour participer aux activités d’intégration.

  • Scholarship application

    The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program, initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in January 1999, aims to bolster the international recruitment efforts of French higher education institutions. This initiative comes amidst heightened global competition among developed nations to attract top-tier foreign students for Master's, Engineering degrees, or PhD programs.

     

    Eligibility Criteria

    • Age Range: Applicants must be between 25 and 30 years old, depending on the academic level.
    • Nationality: Applicants must hold foreign citizenship.
    • Master's: Candidates currently enrolled in studies in France are ineligible.
    • PhD: Only candidates enrolled in joint or co-supervised thesis programs are eligible.

     

    Duration of the Scholarship

    • PhD: The Eiffel Scholarship is granted for a maximum period of 18 months for enrollment in the first year of doctoral studies.
    • Master's: The Eiffel Scholarship is granted for:
      • Up to 12 months for enrollment in Master 2
      • Up to 24 months for enrollment in Master 1
         

    Application Procedure

    Only French higher education and research institutions can submit application files.


    Foreign students interested in applying for an Eiffel Scholarship should not do so directly. Instead, they should apply through the French university where they intend to enroll. The application should be submitted by the Master's program coordinator or the thesis supervisor. For further guidance, please consult the application guide.

  • Preparing for your arrival

    Depending on your country of origin and the program you'll be attending at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Marseille, you might need to complete certain consular procedures. Click here to find out the primary steps for visa applications.

    For exchange students wishing to be accommodated in a Crous university residence, it's necessary to inform the International Relations and Research Office by specifying it on the application form. Your request will be reviewed, and you will be notified of the decision via email.

    Numerous accommodation options are available for non-exchange program students, along with detailed procedures for acquiring accommodation (lease signing, home insurance, housing assistance from CAF, etc.), all outlined in the international student guide.

    You will find specialized collections in pharmacy and pharmacology at the pharmacy library.

    • On the 1st floor: applied sciences to medicine (chemistry), medical sciences (anatomy, physiology, oncology, specialties, etc.), botany, pharmacology, and medical specialties. Next to the reception: general culture and TOEIC preparation. In the intern room: books for pharmacy intern preparation.
    • On the 2nd floor: professional resources for librarians, collections from the School of Journalism.

    The library offers an excellent collection in botany and pharmacology, following a documentation policy based on the research laboratories of the Faculty of Pharmacy.

    The library keeps its older collections in storage, with indirect access, covering all pharmaceutical fields.

  • PhD students and researchers

    Are you an international PhD student, researcher, or professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Marseille? The International Relations and Research Office provides assistance with all your administrative procedures and offers personalized support to:

    • Prepare for your stay: assistance with entry, residence, and work formalities in France (visas, residence permits, health insurance, etc.). 
    • Facilitate your settlement in France: French language courses, cultural and integration activities.

     

    The Euraxess France Network

    The Euraxess France network is a member of the European initiative that brings together over 600 service centers in 42 countries. These centers assist international PhD students, researchers, and their families from the European Union or third countries in all their administrative procedures.   • French courses (FLE)

    The Service Universitaire de Langues (SUL) and the International Relations Office (DRI) at Aix-Marseille University offer French courses (FLE) specifically tailored for exchange students. These courses include an intensive one-week session before the academic year begins, as well as evening classes available throughout the year.

    Are you an international student seeking to enhance your French skills? Whether you want to learn French from scratch or refine your existing knowledge, don't hesitate to reach out to the International Relations and Research Office to sign up for FLE courses.

     

    Please note that while these courses are valuable for language acquisition, they do not meet the requirements for obtaining a visa due to the limited number of course hours (only 30 hours per session).

One of our main missions is to warmly welcome international students, whether they come within the framework of an exchange program or not.     We are here to assist you in preparing for your international experience in Marseille. Here is an overview of what our office offers:

     

     

    At the beginning of the academic year, the International Relations and Research Office organizes an orientation week for new students. We will introduce them to the facilities of the Faculty of Pharmacy, including the cafeteria, library, lecture halls, classrooms, laboratories, and main administrative services. We also offer activities to promote the integration of all international students.

     

     

    International students have the same status as French students. With their student card, they have access to university libraries and dining facilities, as well as numerous discounts (cinemas, museums, theaters, concerts, festivals, etc.).

    • Karaoke nights

    We provide personalized support to all international students:

    • Administrative procedures: assistance with visa/residence permit applications, health insurance/Carte Vitale, and housing assistance applications (CAF).
    • Academic support: assistance with the creation of Learning Agreements.
    • Accommodation: assistance with booking accommodation in CROUS residences, subject to availability.
